Jubilee Celebrations-Quiz/Treasure Hunt

A fun event for adults and families with children. Solve the clues as you walk a route through the village and find items associated with royalty. Enter with some of your friends or as a family and give your team a name. Start at the Memorial Hall with a 'Pimm's' and finish at St.Andrews Hall with a cup of tea. If you wish bring a picnic to have en route or at St Andrews to hear whether you are a winner.

There are two routes. The shorter route 1 hour 30 minutes and the longer route 2 hours 15 minutes.Teams will set off at 5 minutes intervals-please register befiore the event and you will be given a start time,

Diamond Jubilee - Beacon Lighting - Hylands House Chelmsford

Celebrate the Jubilee in the Queen's newest City Chelmsford will celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee with a beacon lighting on Monday 4 June, as fete attractions from 1952 meet exciting spectacles from 2012. Come to the back lawn of Hylands House and be transported back to the era of the Queen's coronation with an afternoon of traditional fete amusements such as Punch and Judy, 'ring over the block' and horse and carriage rides, from 3pm - 8pm. Then, as the sun begins to set, enjoy the 1952 Walt Disney production of 'The Story of Robin Hood and his Merrie Men' on a giant outdoor cinema screen. In the late evening the Jubilee beacon will be lit to the strains of the national anthem, and the cinema screen will project pictures from London of the Queen lighting the national beacon. The event will conclude with a spectacular firework display over Hylands House. This free event is being organised by Chelmsford Council, and holds particular significance since the Queen chose Chelmsford to be made a City in her Jubilee year. The event is free to attend, beginning at 3pm, and does not require a ticket.

There will be a village Jubilee Barn Dance and hog roast in the old barn at Little Baddow Hall Fruit Farm to the music of 'Metric Foot'. Initially there will be 250 tickets for sale so come along and let your hair down and join in the fun.

Tickets are rapidly being booked ( 160 sold to date) so hurry to avoid disappointment.
