The Sports Field was originally meadowland, taken over as a parade ground for troops stationed in the village in the First World War. It has been used as a cricket ground since the 1920s. It is also used by the Ridge Runners and Elm Green School.
The Sports Field has a pavilion which is managed by the Sports Club.
