Local Planning Applications

Planning Process

Planning decisions are made by Chelmsford Borough Council. Little Baddow Parish Council acts as a consultee for planning applications. This means that a copy of all planning applications relating to the parish are discussed by the Parish Council or Planning Sub-committee and any comments or objections are forwarded to the Borough Council.

A Village Design Statement for Little Baddow was produced and adopted as "Interim Planning Guidance" in May 2005. To view the Statement click here. Since then, new Planning Policies have been adopted by Chelmsford Borough Council. Work is currently (2009) under way to refresh the Village Design Statement and consult further within the Village, with the intention that the revised Statement will be adopted formally as a "Supplementary Planning Document" so that it will have equal status with all other Planning Polcy documents, when planning applications are considered.

Full details of the planning process are available from Chelmsford Borough Council Town Planning.
